How to take care of your item

Please take care when handling your item as our products are handmade and often from delicate materials.

Garments-

Take care when using your garment, so that it does not get in contact with any surfaces, materials or substances that may cause damage to your garment.

Take care when wearing jewellery. It may catch the delicate fibres on fabrics causing tear and damage.

You only need to clean your garment if it has a visible stain. If you have a set of garments made of same material, such a two piece suit, clean both pieces at the same time. Cleaning can change the feel and look of the material slightly and this way both of pieces will stay looking the same.

Use the hanger and any hanging aid such as bust forms we give you when hanging your garment. The hanging loops under arms will ensure your garment stays straight, so avoid cutting them off. Leave adequate space around your garment when hanging it, so it doesn’t get squashed unnesessarily.

We do not recommend hanging your garment in a steamy room unless it’s 100% wool. Silk, especially bias cut hems, may get creasier in damp conditions.

Always refer to the care label on the garment when cleaning you product and take your garment to an established and trusted dry cleaners.

If your garment is embellished with beads or sequins, some of them may fall of when used. We are happy to reapply any missing embellishment. If you garment made out of lace gets a tear, we may be able to make it good. Contact us if you have any issues and we’ll be happy to help.

Hats and Fascinators-

Hats are made of natural fibres (sinamay, wool felt and silk) that do get damages in rain, so avoid wearing your headpiece in wet conditions.

We only use cruelty-free sustainable feathers that are either naturally shed or a by-product.

Flowers are handmade silk flowers, so please note they may vary slightly individually.

Always store your headpiece carefully placed in a box to avoid feathers getting damaged and the crowns and brims getting squashed. Do not bend your hat as the fibres may brake.

Always refer to the care label inside the hat when caring for you product.

Bags-

Our clutch bags are made-to-order using best quality leather, suede and 100% pure silks or material to match your outfit.

Take care when using your bag, so that it does not get in contact with any surfaces, materials or substances that may cause damage to your item.

Our bag frames are silver plated hence they may tarnish/oxidise in use. Once your bag is made, we apply a micro crystalline wax on the frame that protects it from tarnishing.

If tarnishing occurs you can polish the frame with silver polishing cloth. Do not use any liquids as it is likely to stain the leather/suede/silk. To prevent tarnishing, always handle the frame with clean hands as the most common causes for tarnishing are food, salt and oily residue from your hands and fingers, humidity and chemicals in the air, latex and rubber, wool and felt.

Do not immerse in water, wash or dry clean the bags.

Best way to store the item after use is wrapped in light colour cotton or acid free tissue paper. Put some tissue inside the bag to prevent it from flattening. Protect from damp and strong light.
